Abstract The article gives key provisions of open system profile construction methods. The automated computer experiment simulation system (ACESS) is viewed as an open system. ACESS is designed to create convenient means of application development. Each application is a separate open virtual complex with heterogeneous computing, organizational, and information resources. Therefore, the choice of ACESS profile construction methods is crucial to ensure correct system operation. In order to select the profile construction methods the author presents results of the analysis of known models of open systems environments. This analysis has led to a basic agreement on ACESS profile construction. In accordance with the agreements, the basic requirements to support profile life cycle such as requirement definition, design, implementation, support are considered. As a result, the ACESS profile physical project has been built. The article specifies features of construction methods of the ACESS profile operational project.
